"Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud" - Maya Angelou
The direction of my career was influenced by a primary school visit to a Magistrate's court and after completing my Law Degree at the the University of Wales, Aberystwyth I went on to Guildford for my LPC, finally qualifying as a solicitor over 12 years ago.
I chose to specialise in private client work as there is a good variety and I like the mathematical element. My role involves drafting Wills, lifetime estate and tax planning, estate administration, trust creation and administration, and powers of attorney and court of protection work. I am down to earth and love working with people. My job allows me to support my clients and their families at difficult times in a practical and caring way which is a true privilege. I see my role as a lawyer often to be to translate the law for my clients and therefore be able to make informed decisions about their own affairs. I live just outside Exeter with my husband, young son and cat. We love being in the coastal area of the South West, but I also have family in the Oxford area and so plenty of reason to visit. I enjoy watching rugby and cricket, baking, reading, music and a good glass of bubbly!
