I am a solicitor who has practised exclusively in Family law since 2012. I help my clients deal with separation and divorce, and the legal and practical consequences that can flow from this. A large part of this is resolving how finances should be divided during divorce and I have particular expertise and experience in working with professionals, academics, business owners and their spouses. I give practical advice and seek solutions for clients. I understand that it is stressful coming to see a lawyer, and seek always to be approachable and empathetic.
I am proud to be the chair of Oxfordshire's Resolution group, an organisation of lawyers promoting a constructive approach to family issues. The aim of Resolution is to reduce conflict during separation and divorce, which is important, especially when children are involved and an ongoing relationship is needed between parents. I particularly enjoy problem solving - be that for clients with their legal problems or at home doing cryptic crosswords and playing board games.
As a father myself, I appreciate the benefits to children of spending time with both their parents, particularly following times of family upheaval. I act regularly for parents in high conflict disputes as to child arrangements, where I seek practical and child-focused solutions for my clients. I have been involved in several international relocation cases where a parent is seeking to move overseas with their children and am acutely conscious of the emotional stress such cases have on all parties.
I came to Oxford nearly twenty years ago with no intention to stay for long, but I now can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else. It's a place to lay down roots, enjoy the culture, and eat great food.
