Transfer of Ownership

Transfer of Ownership

Who owns what? It’s a question that’s often avoided but is rarely inconsequential.

It really matters. Moving in with a partner, planning to marry or if you find yourself separating from your partner, you may need to transfer a share of a property or resume full ownership of it yourself. In each of these situations, you’ll need to take important steps to formalise the changes, protect your property rights and make sure that ownership can’t be challenged in the future.

It might not be an easy subject to broach with a partner, an ex-partner or a family member, we appreciate that. But talking to us, in confidence, and understanding what needs to happen is a really good first step. We’ll tell you about your legal, and practical options. We’ll even give you some advice about the best way of getting discussions underway! And we’ll help put in place the property ownership arrangement that does what you need it to. An arrangement that will stand the test of time.

At Hedges we believe in keeping things as simple as possible. You can count on us to unravel the legal complexities and find the best solution that fits your particular needs. We’ll be alongside you with clear, supportive advice, and a careful eye on your future. It’s the way we like to look after our clients. Because we know that good legal support is about far more than just law.
